Alton Towers
During the weekend of the 14th of May, we travelled up to Derby with some of the youth from churhc - stayed the night with a friend - and then got up early on the Saturday morning and drove to Alton Towers for a day of thrilling rides, and an evening of funky music (although we were a bit tired by then)!

Above: Poor old Ang had never been on a white knuckle ride before - so it was great fun to see her scream on the first ride we went on - Oblivian - it accelerated you downwards into a black hole. Another great ride was the Nemesis (above) where our feet were dangling from the seats - the G-forces were huge!

Above: youth worker Tim and his fiance Debs.
Below: I'd like to introduce you to Tim Ha Ha. Nuff sed.

Above: Ang trying to look cool - while shaking in her boots about the next ride.
Below: One of the youth, Katie, taking a break while cueing for 2 hours!

Above: Mr Matt.

Above: My favourite ride was AIR. This tipped you so that you were facing the ground. It felt like I was flying. We nearly had a disaster with this ride though ... after cueing for over 2 hours, we finally got strapped into the seats and then.... "UH OH, WE SEEM TO BE HAVING A TECHINCAL PROBLEM, WE DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO FIX IT..." Oh dear we thought - were we going to be able to ride this after all? Unfortunately we were strapped into the seats and couldn't move anywhere! Then we saw Jonathan Ross - how cool! Finally, after about a 20 minute wait, we were under way - and boy was it worth the wait!!

Above: After a full day of riding the rides we headed back to the car park where 12,000 people had gathered to watch some funky Christian bands. As you can see in the picture above - the place was PACKED!! The stage is on the right of this picture, miles away!! We managed to sit near the sound endgineer's tent - but the sound was great.

Above & Below: Everyone was really tired out after a busy day, so we just sat around listening to the likes of Delirious and Rebeccas St. James....

Above & Below: Some nice silhouttes from the sunset as we listend to the music.
