USA 2002 - Death Valley- The Campsite

Death Valley : 1 - 2 - 3

When we arrived in the valley at around 7pm the temperature was at a scorching 47C!!

ABOVE: The tourist information centre at Furness Creek - it was so HOT!

ABOVE & BELOW: There was nobody else mad enough to camp here! We had the whole camp site to ourselves, with running hot water (heated by the sun). In fact, there wasn't any cold water available - it was always hot.

ABOVE: Dave got out his hammock to sleep on. The red faces say it all.

BELOW: Despite the heat, we still managed to play frisbee. This is actually the last time we saw our frisbee - so if anyone has found it burried under the sand in Death Valley - please return it!

ABOVE & BELOW: It was also windy in the valley, so instead of wind chill which you get in the UK, it was like standing in a fan oven. SO HOT!
