Hiring the bikes for a couple of hours we started investigating the major venues around the Olympic park including the main stadium above. Although we didn't actually go in the venues it was still a pretty impressive site.

There were lots of fountains around to cycle under! I really like the design of this one above and spent a while taking a number of photos from different angles.

Leaving the Olympic Park behind we cycled off to the bi-centennial park where we passed by a couple of Sydney's birdlife above and below. These birds were very common in all of the parks we visited in Sydney, though I never really got close enough to take a decent picture. Hopefully they show that they are a bit more exciting than the seaguls and pigeons we find in the UK!

Sitting down and chilling out in front of Belvedere lake we witnessed a plane writing the word FROG in the sky! Very random.

We then cycled into the Badu Mangroves along the boardwalk where we were treated to a glimpse of what Sydney may have looked like before all the development of the past 200 years!

Back at the Olympic park we cycled to the top of this mound (round and round the hill) until we arrived at the top and saw this great view of the Olympic venues.

Ang and I had a great day at the Olympic Park. We didn't expect too much, but really enjoyed cycling round the venues and visiting the parks. On the way back to the city on the ferry we were treated to yet another great sunset over Sydney harbour. Some of these photos can be found here.
