December 2002 Trip - Highlights

Highlights - Angela's Graduation - Graduation Party - Ashton Memorial - Misc - Lake District

These are the highlights of our trip to the North West in December 2002. During the visit, Angela was made a "DR", we visited both sets of parents, spent a couple of days in the Lake District & met up with lots of our friends.

Above: We arrived at Al's house late on Tuesday night.

Above & Below: On the Wednesday we spent the morning at Al's house, and then made the short journey to Lancaster for Angela's graudation. Because Angela was graduating for her pHD she got to wear a grey gown and a floppy hat! To view more pictures of Angela graduating, click here.

Above & Below: After her graduation we met up at our old local pub/restraunt in Lancaster with some of our friends that are still in Lancaster. The food was great & it was nice to catch up with people again!

Above & Below: On the Thursday morning we drove up to the Ashton memorial which over looks Lancaster, Morecambe Bay & the Lake District - a special place for us. Back in Christmas 1998 it was the first place that we held hands and on October 13th 2001 we had our reception in the building. The weather on the Thursday was fantastic and we managed to take a number of groovy pictures. We went back late afternoon to catch the sunset.

Below: Thursday evening we spent at Angela's parents house in Kirkham, near Preston. It was really good to spend some time with them.

Above & Below: Friday morning we drove up to Bowness in the Lake District and stayed at a Bed & Breakfast overlooking Lake Windermere. It was a really relaxing time, we did a little walking, a lot of shopping & went to a lovely Tapas Bar.

Above & Below: Saturday afternoon we returned to Lancaster and met up with some friens again. Ang went shopping with her sister Claire, while Al watch the James Bond film with Big Dave (above). In the evening we had home made lasagne in Big Dave's Big Attic and watched TV & a DVD (below).

Above & Below: On the Sunday we went to our old church in Lancaster, St. Thomas'. It was really nice to be welcomed back, and to recognise so many faces. Driving back down to Cambridge we stopped at Al's house to pick up hamster Buzz, where we met Al's sister Cerys (below), and fiance Justin. We then travelled to Whitchurch where we picked up Dave & Lois for the rest of the trip home!
