Short Break in the Lakes
This week we have taken the week off from work to spend time round the house, but also to have a short break up in the Lake District with my parents.
We left on Saturday morning, after a flat tire and raced up the M6 towards Manchester where we saw the Halle Orchestra perform Sci-fi hits including Star Wars, Superman, 2001 Space Odysee etc!! It was fantastic!

Leaving Manchester on Sunday morning (having been confused by the clock changes) we stopped off at Angela's parents in Kirkham for a lovely Sunday lunch. We then travelled cross country to Lancaster where we had our flat tire replaced and visited Angela's sister Claire. Leaving Lancaster after a lovely soup supper with Claire we drove towards Bowness in the Lake District where we joined my parents in a lovely cottage over looking Lake Windermere!!

On the Monday we decided to go for a short walk (6 miles) around
a small lake called Elterwater. The weather remained overcast - but we were still able to see some of the colours of the changing leaves on the trees!

Above & Below: Elterwater - also called Swan Lake (by the walking magazine we were using!)

Above & Below: We stopped for lunch at another waterfall. It was a shame I didn't have my tripd as I would have tried a more arty shot of the above - but I still think it came out great anyway!
