Al & Ang's Christmas 2004

This Christmas we woke up in our own home!! After spending time with friend Tim and Debra and then going to St. Barnabas in Cambridge on Christmas eve we woke up on Christmas morning together! We had a quick breakfast, loaded the car up and then headed up the M6 to Manchester in time for lunch!

Above: We arrived in Manchester, at Al's parent's house just in time to open presents together. The photos above show Al's brother (Philip), and his Grandmother.

Below: after a yummy lunch prepared by Al's mum, we settled down for an afternoon of chilling, chatting and watching TV. By the late afternoon it had started to snow, so Ang and I (plus mum & dad) decided to go for a walk!!

Boxing Day

Below: on Boxing Day morning we woke up to beautiful sunshine and SNOW!!

On Boxing Day we travelled up the M61 to Angela's parents in Kirkham, with a quick stop at PC World and )*)(* to pick up a fewBoxing Day bargains. After having a lovely lunch with Angela's parents and sister, we went for a quick walk through the fields around their village.

Bank Holiday Monday

Still at Angela's parents Bank Holiday Monday was spent chilling in their house, and meeting up with her brother & sister's family.

Bank Holiday Tuesday

On the Tuesday we woke up early and headed back to Manchester to go on a walk with Al's parents and brother. We went out to the Peak District just past Macclesfield - on the way it started snowing again!!

We parked at a pub and went for a walk for a couple of hours up the surrounding hills and valleys. The weather was OK (occasionaly sleet & hail!!), but the ground was so muddy my feet got soaked!! Some of the paths were like streams.

Unfortunately, although I took my camera, the memory card failed and I lost all the photos apart from the two above and below.

When we arrived back at the pub, it was completely full - so we had to retreat back to Didsbury and went to Al's local "The Didsbury" for a lovely meal (below).

These pics were taken by my camera phone - so appologies for the quality.

In the evening we went shopping at the Trafford Centre and although it was after 7pm, there were still cars parked on the pavements!! Despite Ang's best efforts, we didn't actually find anything worthy buying!!

On the Wednesday, we travelled back down to Little Thetford, which took us pretty much all afternoon with all the traffic on the roads. All in all, it was a great Christmas, with a good mixture of activities & chilling!!
