Budapest Weekend Break 2005 - Page 3

Above & Below: the next day we walked around Margaret Island - and island in the middle of the Danube. Its a place where the locals of Budapest come to rest and enjoy activities like swimming and cycling. The church below is called St. Michael's Church.

Above & Below: although we walked for quite a distance, it was quite a relaxing day. The water tower below was built in 1911 and is now a UNESCO listed building... it looked great from a distance, but up close seemed rather run down and dirty... it had a cafe, but we didn't dare go in!!

Above & Below: the Japanese water gardens were very pretty - we even managed to spot a frog above (not below!!)

Above & Below: after seeing the musical Bodor Well we headed back to the bridge where we saw a display of boats across the bridge - also in celebration of the national holiday. We then went back to the hotel and chilled out in the swimming pool in anticipation for another plane packed exciting evening....
